WATER PRESERVATION
The images participating in the contest should have as their theme the preservation of water, a fundamental element for life on Earth and environmental sustainability.
SECTION WATER PRESERVATION
Among all images admitted to the contest in the “Water Preservation” section, the following will be awarded:
– The best overall photo will receive a cash prize of € 1,500 and the title of **World Water Day Photo Contest 2025 Overall Winner**
– The second-best photo will receive a cash prize of € 700
– The third-best photo will receive a cash prize of € 300
SECTION WATER LANDSCAPES
Among all images admitted to the contest in the “Water Landscapes” section, the following will be awarded:
– The best photo will receive a cash prize of € 500
– The second-best photo will receive a cash prize of € 250
– The third-best photo will receive a cash prize of € 150
Prizes are not cumulative
OTHER PRIZES
STORYTELLING SECTION
– The best portfolio in the “Storytelling” section will receive a cash prize of € 750
– The second-best portfolio will receive a cash prize of € 350
– The third-best portfolio will receive a cash prize of € 200
Special Mentions:
Special mentions may be awarded, such as:
– **Honorable Mention Best of…** (e.g., Young Photographer, Aerial, Underwater, Italy)
These special mentions do not carry monetary prizes but recognize particular creative and technical merits.
Geographical Area Prizes:
Upon reaching at least 1,000 participants, the best photos from each continent will also be awarded:
– The best photo taken by a photographer residing in Europe will receive a cash prize of € 100
– The best photo taken by a photographer residing in Asia will receive a cash prize of € 100
– The best photo taken by a photographer residing in Africa will receive a cash prize of € 100
– The best photo taken by a photographer residing in Oceania will receive a cash prize of € 100
– The best photo taken by a photographer residing in the Americas will receive a cash prize of € 100
AWARD CEREMONY
The award ceremony will take place on March 22, 2025, in conjunction with **World Water Day**.
The winning photos and a selection of the best photos chosen by the jury will participate in the traveling exhibitions of the **World Water Day Photo Contest | Travelling Exhibition**, which will take place from April 2025 to February 2026 at various locations worldwide.
